Architects argued between the merits of the Classical style and the Gothic, believed to be a truer English style. Earlier, the Classical style dominated and was defined by the full stucco façade with pillars.

Considering pre-existing cultural nuances in Asia, Euromonitor International has identified key consumer behavioural changes and growth strategies in the kitchen, from preparation to cooking and cleaning. Making sense of these trends and the evolution of home cooking is essential for companies to be tomorrow’s leaders in innovation and market penetration. We conducted several analyses to investigate the home health market. We first examined overall trends in the number of HHAs and the number of Medicare enrollees served by HHAs by ownership type and chain status from 2005 to 2018. When provided partial year entries for a given agency‐year, we re‐weighted partial year observations to make annual estimations. We excluded agencies with missing entries. Yokoyama, H. (1997). Inside medium-to-large homes, the ground floor would boast either the main reception rooms or private family rooms. The kitchen was more likely to be found at the rear of the ground floor. In larger houses, the first floor remained the main entertaining space, while in smaller homes this floor would contain bedrooms. After the popularity of the water closet at the Great Exhibition of 1851, internal WCs became more common. However, the shift in eating occasions has also led to a desire to consume more sophisticated foods at home, and with it the experience of food preparation and cooking. With mobility regulations still fluctuating in Asia, consumers may switch more fluidly between convenience and enjoyment; thus, companies must consider both needs through their products. In 1917, the Smith-Hughes Act mandated an emphasis on and provided funding for occupational preparation in home economics classes. Although this act undermined and codified gender roles in the field of home economics, it also established an important link between the federal government and the field of home economics which “sought to elevate and enlarge women’s roles in the home and in society” (Stage 79). The study of h ome economics aimed to “prepare student[s] for effective discharge of duties within the home and give scientific preparation for efficient administration of household affairs” (Calvin 1). Home economics also gained popularity in response to the perceived breakdown in society in the early 1900’s as a result of urbanization, industrialization, and immigration. Yukawa, T. (1982). Roujin kyojuu system no arikata (Japanese: How should be a housing environment for the elderly?). Kentiku chishiki, 24(9), 50–52. Our study provides evidence that notable differences existed in quality performance and patient outcomes between chain and nonchain agencies, in the aggregate. In future research, it will be crucial to investigate the root causes leading to this difference. The causes could be underlying quality differences or systematic reporting practice differences between chain and nonchain agencies. Moreover, as the behaviors of newly acquired health care providers could be largely impacted by the new parent companies, quality reporting and monitoring at chain‐level could provide information on quality performance at an organizational level, beyond just an agency basis. 14, 16 Additionally, chain‐level quality performance could be considered when approving business activities such as mergers and acquisitions. For the three self‐reported process measures, chain‐owned agencies (for‐profit and nonprofit) on average performed better compared to all other agency types. Two self‐reported outcome measures (the percent of patients who got better at walking or moving around, the percent of patients who got better at bathing) told a similar story: chain agencies out‐performed nonchain agencies. Finally, chain agencies (both for‐profit and nonprofit) had a greater share of patients who needed urgent, unplanned care in the emergency room, compared to nonchain agencies (both for‐profit and nonprofit). Government‐owned HHAs performed the worst on this measure. Toshima City Office. (2000). Toshima-ku no syakai fukushi (Japanese: The Annual report of social welfare in Toshima City). Tokyo: Toshima City Office,. Whether the project is an urban town house, a seaside cottage, an ancestral residence, or a lakeside retreat, the approach of Sims Hilditch is always the same—a collaboration with clients to make stylish, comfortable homes that offer the perfect settings for everyday life. The book explores how the firm creates rooms where people live healthy and vibrant lives, aware of the changing seasons and embracing the comforts of a slower lifestyle—resulting in a holistic picture of design in the twenty-first century. About The AuthorAs our homes are transformed into digital hubs in light of the pandemic, The Future of the Home trend report produced by Aritco and Springwise, the world’s leading idea-spotting network, explores how the latest innovations will support this evolution. Additionally, the proportions of HHAs with performance in the national bottom decile were higher for nonchain agencies than those for chain‐owned agencies. One explanation for this is that chains could better maintain floors of quality, compared to nonchain HHAs. Multifunctionality is important when competing for countertop space in the kitchen and share of wallet, given the rising incidence of apartment-living and a growing number of single-person households in Asia. Consumers are gravitating towards multifunctional appliances that are cost-effective to help them recreate different meals at home. This is leading to the rise of category-blurring appliances such as microwaves that combine light frying features.

We assigned the state of each HHA using its registered location in Medicare cost reports. We calculated the percent by dividing the total number of Medicare enrollees in chain‐owned HHAs in each state by the total number of Medicare enrollees served by HHAs in that state for that year.
