I would have liked the methyl orange indicator pictures to be updated as the colour changes could be clearer, otherwise my only criticism is the book has been released after schools have made their investments for the new curriculum. The likelihood of obtaining a class set of these books now is greatly reduced. Answers to Questions with many Help Sheets and Extension sheets and Revision support, plus a mapping grid for each specification and can e found on-line. Chemistry for You : Fifth Edition for All GCSE Examinations

A degree is not the only route into a career in chemistry. There are also many options for work-based learning, and many providers offer chemistry-related apprenticeships. If you’re not sure university is right for you, but you love chemistry, an apprenticeship or a degree apprenticeship may suit you perfectly. There are opportunities for lab technicians and laboratory scientists – you’ll be applying straight to the company offering the apprenticeship, and competition can be high, so make sure you do your research and get your application in early. Chemistry will open the doors to countless careers, both in the lab and out of it, and people who have studied chemistry are employed in many sectors, including medicine research, manufacturing, and education. While college academic tutors primarily support your academic development, you can also ask their advice on other things. Lots of other college staff including welfare officers help students settle in and are available to offer guidance on practical or health matters. Current students also actively support students in earlier years, sometimes as part of a college ‘family’ or as peer supporters trained by the University’s Counselling Service. During the second year of the course, students build up their understanding of the subject and cover most of the core material in the degree. Please select 'see course data' on the following course option to view the full Unistats data for Chemistry. The fourth year (Part II) of the course involves full-time work within an established research group, which offers the possibility for a few students to spend time at laboratories in industry or at universities abroad.
